Services
We can provide expert guidance and advice on specialized care, and with transitioning you or your loved one into the next phase of their life, with the use of a licensed Home Health or Hospice Agency. We understand how these services can positively impact one’s life and complement the care that we provide in our home.
Staff
We have 24-hour awake staff, 1:3 (caregiver to patient ratio) during day-time hours, and 1:6 from 10pm until 6:00am. We provide custom care based upon our resident’s needs.
Our caregivers are professionally trained, under the supervision of a licensed professional and are employed by the owners. Background checks (State & Federal) are performed before hiring. Employees receive initial (upon hiring) and annual training, related to Alzheimer’s and Dementia, activities of daily living, care of the cognitively impaired, and person centered care. We withhold payroll taxes, contribute to Social Security and Medicare taxes, and provide workers compensation coverage and liability insurance.
Meals
Consuming healthy well-balanced meals can help one feel their best and promote activity. It can also help lower one’s risk of developing some health conditions such as skin breakdown and muscle wasting or anorexia. We prepare healthy well-balanced meals and snacks daily, which are planned out on a weekly basis. We maintain a mealtime routine and promote food favorites, which encourages a home-like environment. Special diets, prescribed by a physician, can be accommodated.
Activities
We provide an array of activities tailored to our residents’ interests and abilities as part of our distinctive approach, which promotes well-being and maximizes independence.
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), physical activity reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression, and fosters improvements in mood and feelings of well-being. It helps maintain healthy bones, muscles, and joints. Physical activity helps control joint swelling and pain associated with arthritis.
Some of our physical activities include range of motion (ROM) exercises (gross and fine motor), chair exercises / yoga, and games. These needs are based on the personal preference, age, beliefs, cultural values, attention span and life experiences of our residents.
We promote mental wellbeing through games, crafts, movies and special events designed to stimulate the mind and encourage interaction. And we facilitate emotional wellbeing through the nurturing of relationships, the sharing of art and music. Whether it be knitting, building models, painting pictures, or simply making phone calls and writing letters, we look for ways to help your loved one continue creating. Our residents’ hobbies are welcome at Lilly’s Villa II, and their skills will be developed and appreciated. We have a beautiful upright Petrof piano, where one could play solo or with our community. We also have a karaoke machine, for those fun family sing-alongs.
